About Us
Paradise Surfboards are a family run surfboard designing and shaping team based in the UK surf capital, Newquay, working from our little home workshop.
We're always striving to provide our customers with quality, custom surfboards, both aesthetically and performance-wise. There are a range of models available; from shortboards, to mid-lengths, to longboards. We specialise in custom hand crafted surfboards with free standard resin tints, but we won't be offended if you want a clear board!
Andy Gibson
Shaper/Designer
Andy has always been very practical and you'd find him creating things for the enjoyment of him and his family. From building boats, to saunas, to violins, Andy is always wanting to be busy making something! When he took up surfing, the natural progression was to make a surfboard, of course! Andy would then periodically make boards for himself and for his two sons, one of them being Liam.
That was over 15 years ago! Andy started making himself midlengths and longboards, and for his two son's, shortboards were the way! He went from shaping for his family, to then friends, and then those in the community.
Over the years, Liam fined tuned his craft designing surfboards. After countless hours in the shaping bay as he was growing up and of course surfing all the time, he has built vast knowledge of surfboard design, namely what makes a board go, and go well.
Having a initial keen interest in high performance surfboard design, over time Liam strove to take the best aspects of high performance surfboard design and implement that into shapes for the everyday surfer.
Liam's love for the technical side of board making means that when they have a concept for a new board, Liam can spend hours just perfecting the smallest of details of a design, he can't help it!
The result beautifully crafted performance orientated surfboards, for everyday surfers.
